This is Ken Climo and friends shooting the Gran Canyon Disc Golf Course in Brooksville, Florida in February of 2006. This is unique footage of the Champ playing a practice round with disc golf legend J-Bird a few days before the last Cross Canyon Challenge Disc Golf Tournament. Take a video tour of one of the most challenging disc golf courses ever designed. The practice format is doubles and there are 8 players that flip discs for partners....the Champ draws an amateur named Mark.... We follow the Champ's foursome through holes 1-18 and keep an eye on every shot. You will see the best disc golfer ever PURE this EXTREME course. The second foursome includes Brad Hammock and Tony Gerling.
After a break, the 2 foursomes combine for holes 19-27 and this is covered in the next video including highlights from the 2006 Cross Canyon Challenge Awards Ceremony. When you watch the video keep in mind that Ken is shooting with above average players. Although there is much flailing it is the difficulty of the course more than the skill level of the players. This course is unbelievable...massive elevation change and real cool cliff shots with 'lost disc' areas on most if not all holes. Ken and his partner pure a 14 under par, the course record. You will see why Ken won his unbelievable 12th World Championship later that year.
